One technique used in advert is a rhetorical question. This is where the advert asked you things that you want because they are basically guarenteeing you will get this from their product you just dont answer the questions. Adverterts are all arguments that their product is the best really, so they use the rhetoric style to engage people in there product.
One video I found using the rhetoric style is the Old Spice one. They use allot of questions in this advert I think its to attract people straight away because it makes viewers think about the questions thta are being asked. Also in this advert the questions arnt completly everyones reality so are wuite funny which engages viewers very quick. The main question is asked at the end of the advert which is where we find out extactly what this advert is meant to be selling. This technique is successful because it makes people think yes I want that and answer think about them questions themselves. The audience this advert is targeting is women who have husbands that they wish would do more for them. However this technique of using rhetorical questions could be used in any type of advert for any advert because a question can relate to anyone for the product its selling.
