Peer approval is a technique used to make the audience feel that they can be accepted by their peers and that to help make you feel better about it you must buy the product. This technique although is very effective because of how people want to be accepted by there people but can alos be negative peer approval can make people particularly teenagers worry that they will not be accepted if they do not have this product.
This one advert I found uses peer approval using their product Freederm and a teenager which is a popular peer approval stage in life. In the video we see a girl putting this product on her face which then makes her feel happy, accepted and able to see her friends. Its a good selling point because people want that feeling so some might feel like they relate to the people in the advert and so makes them want to buy this product. The audience for this advert if for teenagers particually girls in this one advert which is a good audience to aim for beause they can be easily influenced by things that will help them feel bettert about themselves especially if they someone just like them in the advert. I think this product will be sucessful because of the target audience and the way they make their product look like its the best one out there and you have to have it,its clinacally proven. Even though you dont know whats in it if it says that you feel like its going to work and is better.
